Principal Connections: A Guide to Technology Leadership is a valuable resource designed for principals to help them face the many issues involved when technology becomes a part of the school.  While I encourage you to explore the CD further by getting a copy from the Appalachian Regional Laboratory (just $10), today you will be reviewing the section on evaluating technology integration.  The CD presents the ACOT stages and asks you to rate several sample scenarios.

Follow these directions to access the CD and navigate to the section about evaluation.

1. Open Principal Connections.
   
2. Watch the introductory video. 
   
3. Press the Click to Begin bar below the video to move into your virtual office.
   
4. Each button at the bottom of the window takes you to a different topic.  Click on the clipboard for information and activities related to evaluation.
   
5. Watch the introductory video for that section.  The click on the noteholder to review the sources of evaluation.  Feel free to take notes either in Word or with paper and pencil.
   
6. When you are done reviewing the sources, return to the desk and click on the file folder.  This takes you to a section that includes four different evaluation forms based on the ACOT states.  Review the forms.
   
7. Press the Practice Using the Forms tab.  In this activity you will view several videos and evaluate the level of technology use.
